I chose to explore the city of Savannah in my immersive experience for several reasons. One of them being the fact that I was never, nor currently am, much of a history buff, especially American history, and I’ve recently discovered just how historically rich the city of Savannah is. I wanted to immerse myself in a type of culture that I wouldn’t necessarily travel to or experience on my own accord. In all honesty, I’ve never considered the state of Georgia to be somewhere that I would actually visit or vacation- every time I have been it has been to merely pass through on the way to Florida. However, for this experience, not only did my mom offer me the opportunity to accompany her in travels, as she works down in Savannah several times a month, I wanted to go somewhere that could allow me the opportunity to learn a thing or two about our country’s history- as well as allowing myself to give the state of Georgia a chance.
