One thing that I loved about Savannah was the selection of restaurants to choose from. Savannah is small enough that there isn’t a Chili’s, or an Olive Garden, or any sort of major chain- except one McDonald’s and a Panera Bread. Everything else that you will find in the city are a wide variety of local restaurants, bars, cafés- all with an independent and exquisite charm.

One of the unique things about some of Savannah’s restaurants is that, because the “hauntedness” of Savannah, there are some restaurants that claim to be haunted. I went to a restaurant on one of my last nights on my trip called The Collins Quarter, which is a lovely place that serves Australian-accented foods. The restaurant itself does not claim to be haunted, however several waiters and waitresses there claim to have had a spook. I put our waiter on the spot and asked if it was truly haunted, and he said “I can’t answer that.” Okay, Joey. That’s where my skepticism came into play; that was until he said, “but I will tell you a freaky story later.” He proceeded to tell me a story where he was closing late one night and heard someone banging in the bathroom as if they were locked inside, and when he opened the door, no one was in there. So that’s a little freaky. He was telling me all of this as I munched on my charcuterie board.
